Text-Based Estimation Workflow

In some cases, parts diagrams will not be available for specific vehicle makes and models. For these jobs, the Text-Based Estimation Workflow allows you to continue to order parts from suppliers in a familiar way.


What is a Text-Based Estimation Workflow?

  • Text-based category trees — Navigate vehicle ‘cuts’ & parts groupings in detail, or search directly for parts.
  • Consistent part names — Use Partly’s globally standardised parts terminology.
  • Same-same — Add parts and assemblies to your cart similarly to diagram-based interpretation.

 

Note: It is very important to add detailed notes and multiple photos in the job summary page to help suppliers identify the correct parts. This is critical for the text-based workflow in every job.

Step-by-Step Process:

The following view is what a user will see when identifying a text-based estimation job.

1. Identification:

You will see a badge display as “Diagrams are not available for this vehicle” in the job overview page:

The following view is what an estimator will see when landing on the Estimate Tab:

  • A blank Parts Cart will be displayed across the screen.
  • To start adding parts, add the name to the search bar on the bottom left and press "Enter".

  • You will now see the part appear in your Cart:
  • You can continue to add more parts through the search box immediately below the part.

  • It is important to add notes for the specific parts to help the supplier identify what you require!

  • When you have completed your parts list, hit the Summary button to review your job. Don't forget to add images and notes for suppliers before Ordering:

Please ensure these are included in every job as they are required for all offer requests:
