Text-based estimation Flow

In some cases, parts diagrams will not be available for specific vehicle makes and models. For these jobs, you can use the Text-based Estimation Workflow to ensure you can continue to order parts from suppliers in a familiar way.


What is a Text-based estimation Flow and what does it include?

  • Using Partly’s globally standardised parts terminology
  • Using text-based category trees to navigate vehicle ‘cuts’ & parts groupings, or searching directly for parts
  • Adding parts and assemblies to the cart, similar to diagram-based interpretation

 

→ It is very important to add detailed notes and multiple photos in the job summary page to help suppliers identify the correct parts. This is critical for the text-based workflow; please ensure these are included in every job.

 

Let's walk through an example Job using the Text-based estimation flow:

The following view is what a user will see when identifying a Text-based estimation job.

Identification:
You will see an orange badge display as “Diagrams are not available for this vehicle” in the job overview page:

 

The following view is what an estimator will see when landing on the Estimate Tab:

  • A blank Parts Cart will be displayed across the screen. 

  • Start searching for parts using the Typeahead search box in the bottom left. It incorporates Partly’s standardised part type names and common terminology. Check this help guide for detailed features of the Typeahead Search.

  • After searching and finding the part you are after, add it to your cart by hitting the Enter button or clicking on the part. You will now see the part appear in your Cart:

  • The verification badge "Supplier to confirm" is an indication of a part that needs to be confirmed by your supplier, so it is important to add images and notes for this job:

  • When you have completed your parts list, hit the Next button to review your job and add images and notes for suppliers before selecting Supply options:

 

Job Summary:

Adding detailed notes and multiple images in the job summary page to help suppliers identify the correct parts is critical for the text-based estimation workflow.

Please ensure these are included in every job as they are required for all offer requests:
