Total Loss Avoidance (TLA) is a new estimation feature designed for vehicles deemed near total loss.
Summary - What's the feature:
Total Loss Avoidance (TLA) is our new estimation feature designed for vehicles deemed near total loss.
In these cases, speed is critical. A conventional, part-by-part estimate can be less efficient when the reality of the repair involves entire assemblies. Achieving clarity on the viability of a job as quickly as possible is the focus.
TLA streamlines this process by allowing estimators to select large assemblies through our simplified text-based experience.
This maximises the number of suppliers who can quickly view and respond to the job (with knowledge of it's near-total-loss status), and getting to the best possible chance of avoiding total loss vehicles, sooner.
Why it matters:
Faster Estimates: Reduces time spent selecting dozens of components individually when one (or more) entire assemblies are clearly required for a job.
Consistency & Accuracy: Full assemblies are included, lowering the risk of missed items that could inflate costs later while allowing for the most competitive pricing and quickest response from suppliers.
How to Use it:
Once you've deemed a job near total loss all you need to do is tick the "Total Loss Avoidance" box in the the Home tab.
You will then work through the simple text-based estimation workflow to select your parts.
Because of the nature of a Near Total-Loss job, it’s crucial that you provide as much context as possible when filling out your parts list.
The more detail you provide, the easier it is for both new-parts suppliers and dismantlers to quote correctly and avoid unnecessary back-and-forth.
Add clear photos of the damaged areas and assemblies.
Include good descriptive notes to explain exactly what you need, especially for cuts or assemblies where dismantlers may need guidance on where to cut or what to include/exclude.
Finally, send off the job!
We’re not done! Further improvements in the pipeline.
