Adding Additional Parts to an Existing Order - Old Flow

This guide explains how to add parts after an order has already been placed if you are on the "Old flow".

"Old Flow" and "New Flow"

After our recent updates, the order updating process looks a little different depending on when the job was started:

  • The process for updating an existing order is different between the two, so it is critical that you understand which flow you're in for a given job.

  • New Flow: This is the updated experience for all jobs created after the recent updates. You’ll see order status icons beside each part, and the Summary tab separates ordered parts from new ones.

  • Old Flow: This only applies to jobs that were created before the updates. In these jobs, the parts list does not show order status. These older jobs will gradually disappear as they are completed, so over time only the New Flow will remain.

How to Know You’re in the Old Flow

  • The parts list does not show any order status icons.

Add New Parts

  • Add your supplementary parts to the job using the standard methods.

  • The image below shows what the parts list looks like with new parts selected. In this old flow there is not obvious indicator as to which ones are new and which are old here.
    • In this example, orange is the prior parts and green is supplementary.

Note: Do not delete prior parts from your parts list.

Review in Summary Tab

  • Go to the Summary tab.

  • New parts will be listed with the previously ordered parts, again there is no clear differentiation here, but trust us. The old parts will not be reordered.

  • Select relevant images to the new parts and continue to the Supply Tab.

Go to the Supply Tab

  • Open the Supply tab.

  • Scroll down to find your new part(s) in the parts drawer.

    • Select the supplier for each of the new supplementary components.

    • You may need to click "Deselect all"  before you can do this step.

    • If you want to reorder any previous parts, also select a supplier for them now.

Select Supplier New Parts

If you have followed this process only your new parts (or selected reordered parts) will be sent to the supplier.

Sync to BMS

  • After selecting your suppliers but before placing the order, click Sync to BMS.

Troubleshooting and Common Issues:

  • Instant Basket not available

    • Click Add More Suppliers to select suppliers to send a request to.

  • BMS didn’t update

    • Always run Sync to BMS both before and after placing the order. Double check you have used both Sync buttons.

    • Get in touch with support via the details below.
  • Accidentally deleted prior parts

    • If you've not yet synced to BMS you can re-add parts from the diagram or reorder from history, then repeat the steps.

    • If you have already synced you will manually have to add details to the previous parts within your BMS.
